6 Blogs Worship Leaders Should Keep on Speed Dial
Googling for “worship blogs” is about how I would imagine deep sea fishing to be…there’s a WHOLE lot of ocean and you never know what might show up on the end of your pole! Blogs can be an incredible source of ideas and inspiration: two things a worship leader can never have too much of. But finding ones that are worth your time can be a bit daunting. Here are 6 blogs you might want to check out:
Perhaps it may seem odd that my #1 blog for worship leaders has nothing (directly) to do with worship. But this is probably the classiest blog I’ve ever encountered and it’s mostly about leadership & productivity. Hyatt offers insights on everything from managing your time to delegating tasks to becoming more disciplined to avoiding the pitfalls of weak leadership, etc. If you sign up for an email subscription, you get a quality e-book, too!
From what I’ve found, this is the bar-setter for worship blogs about leading ministries. Santistevan covers topics that are extraordinarily relevant to the worship leader’s ministry world.
You’ll think Tardy somehow acquired the power to peak into the worship leader’s soul and speak directly to the stuff we deal with in our hearts and minds. His worship blog is not updated all that frequently these days but you can still find a wealth of insight and advice there.
The Worship Sound Guy has been cracking people up on Twitter longer than he’s been running this pretty new worship blog. But the information being discussed there is much-needed…especially in blue collar worship ministries where the guys you’ve got running the board are seldom professional sound techs. Send them here to soak in great advice and knowledge!
I’m always looking for fresh worship devotional material, not only for me, but to share with my team. This is author Dwayne Moore’s ministry and worship blog and, while it’s not being updated anymore, there’s still a wealth of worship devotions here (73, to be precise) to draw from.
I debated including this worship blog because, as you scroll through the pictures, you’ll find it’s not very blue-collar-friendly…pictures of incredible stage designs that exist somewhere beyond the bounds of my budget! But the times where money is tightest are the times when great creativity is needed the most. And if you dig, you’ll find ideas here that can be done for pennies at the hands of the right artsy person in your church.
Do you have a favorite worship blog that didn’t find it’s way on to my list? I’d love to check it out!
